100+ Interactive Storybooks Just Landed in the RollingSeeds App

From the RollingSeeds team

Storytime just got an upgrade. We’ve added a new library of 100+ interactive storybooks to the RollingSeeds app, each one a read-aloud animation with a built-in quiz at the end. It’s online storytime that doesn’t turn kids into screen zombies, and it’s free for every RollingSeeds user, available right now.

And here’s the part we’re especially proud of: it works whether or not you own the Play-Pot. The RollingSeeds app is fully playable standalone thanks to a built-in virtual keyboard, so any kid with a phone or tablet can dive into the storybooks and quizzes today.

The short version

100+ animated, read-aloud stories for kids ages 3 to 8.

A short, smart quiz after every story.

Play with the Play-Pot and Seeds, or play standalone with the in-app virtual keyboard.

Available in English and soon more languages, with new episodes added regularly.

Free for every RollingSeeds user. The 20+ spelling, math, and memory games stay exactly where they are.

What’s in the library

The new RollingSeeds storybooks app library covers the topics families and teachers ask us about most: nature and science, friendship and feelings, world cultures, problem-solving, and everyday life skills. There are preschool stories for the youngest readers, stories for kindergarten and early elementary kids, and a steady mix of children’s folktales and original adventures featuring our cast of Rolling Friends.

Each episode is short on purpose. Think “fits between dinner and bath time,” not “loses everyone by minute three.”

How the quizzes work

After each read-aloud story, the app asks a few playful questions about what just happened. Kids can answer in two ways:

With the Play-Pot. Roll the matching Alphabet or Number Seed into the console. The infrared reader picks it up instantly, the app reacts in real time, and the quiz feels like part of the story.

On the app alone. Tap answers on the in-app virtual keyboard. Same stories, same quizzes, same characters, no hardware required.

If you have the Play-Pot, the tactile Seed-roll is the showcase experience. If you don’t, the app delivers the full digital storybook flow on its own.

Why interactive storybooks beat passive screen time

Read-aloud stories build vocabulary and comprehension. Quizzes build retention. Putting them together gives kids three of the things early-childhood research keeps pointing to:

Active recall. Quizzes prompt kids to think about what they just heard, not just sit through it.

Multi-sensory engagement. Whether they’re rolling a Seed or tapping the screen, they’re making a deliberate choice, which beats passive watching every time.

Language depth. Every digital storybook doubles as a chance to grow vocabulary at home or in the classroom.

Useful for teachers, too

If you’re a preschool, kindergarten, or early-elementary teacher looking for apps for educators that go beyond passive video, the RollingSeeds storybooks library gives you ready-made read-aloud sessions with comprehension checks built in. Run them on a tablet for a small group, or on the Play-Pot for a more hands-on station.

How to try it

Open the RollingSeeds app on your iOS or Android device and tap the new Stories tab. There’s nothing to buy. It’s already in there, and it works whether or not you have the Play-Pot.
